Fabric sets the drape, feel and price point of the range.

  • Rayon / Viscose

    Soft, flowy, vivid prints at 110–120 GSM. Most cost-effective; shrinks without gentle care.

  • Cotton Voile

    Lightweight, breathable and semi-sheer, with a natural feel. Slightly higher cost.

  • Cotton Muslin

    Textured, breathable and casual, with good durability. Mid-range cost.

  • Linen

    Luxurious texture and breathability for premium lines. Wrinkles easily; higher cost.

  • Modal

    Very soft with excellent drape — a durable, higher-cost alternative to rayon.

Planning your order

Sarong Order Timeline

Plan generously on first orders to allow for approvals and logistics.

  1. Sample & PPS

    First sample from your tech pack through to the approved pre-production sample, charged at 2–3x FOB.

    2–4 weeks

  2. Custom fabric

    Only if custom dyes or weaves are needed before cutting.

    +2–4 weeks

  3. Production

    After sample approval and a 50% deposit; peak seasons run longer.

    6–12 weeks

  4. Sea freight

    To major ports such as the US West Coast or Europe, plus customs and inland transport.

    4–6 weeks

We work FOB Bali; for bulk sarongs, sea freight is the most economical way home.

How quality is checked

  • Fabric inspection: defects, colour and GSM before cutting
  • In-process checks on print alignment and stitching
  • Final inspection of measurements, labels and packing
  • Fibre, origin and care labels for US, EU and Australia
  • Due diligence on wages, safety and no child labour

Watch out for

  • Rayon shrinkage and colourfastness on deep shades
  • Dimension variance of about ±1–2 cm
  • Higher minimums per print or colourway
  • Samples cost more per unit than bulk
  • WRAP or SA8000 are less common in small workshops
